Sometimes it takes going through something excruciatingly painful to open your eyes. My young husband of 51 experienced a massive heart attack and 3 strokes. Things aligned just right so that he did not receive good care. Complications made our hospital stay become months. I filed his claim on-line the first week of January. I went to Social Security only to wait for hours as appointments at Social Security were not available until after May. Help and information was not offered. I went to my family, friends and co-workers. None had the experience or knowledge to get help we needed. I was desperate and did not have any resources.

I reached out to our State Representative, Cyndie Romer in an email one day. I did not know her. Had tried to contact other State politicians and did not get a response. Within hours I received a phone call from Cyndie. Cyndie Romer asked me what she could do to help. I shared our situation with her. She was compassionate and asked questions. The kindness of listening was a large part of her caring. People start healing the moment they feel heard.

She acted as our advocate with Social Security. She found Medicaid and Easter Seals, food banks and other resources. Things we should have gotten from Social Workers at the hospital but not offered. She followed us and text to see if things were progressing. She sent emails with information. Cyndie offered hope and encouragement at a time when things were at their worst. Cyndie Romer genuinely cares about her neighbors. She fights for her constituents every day despite not knowing you personally. Cyndie works to maintain what is good in our community and she is someone you need in your corner when life becomes too hard. Please vote for Cyndie Romer when you go to the polls this November. We cannot do without her.

I have known Cyndie for almost 2 years now. I first met her through the Newark NAACP. Cyndie Romer has done an outstanding job as a State Representative. She has been an advocate for our volunteer fire services, voting in favor of HB 127 which allowed municipalities and the county to raise revenue to support our firefighters. She co-sponsored legislation to curtail the illegal discharge of firearms, making us all safer. She fought to get a fair share of State revenue for the City of Newark. We need her to continue the good work that she has done.

I am very pleased to provide my full support behind Cyndie Romer, Democratic candidate for Delaware Representative for the 25th district. I have known Cyndie for about a year, and have found her passionate and tireless in her advocacy for justice and equality. Having served half of Newark's residents for a decade, I have come to understand the qualities that Newarkers value in their elected officials, and the residents of the 25th could not hope for a better candidate to serve them than Cyndie.

I was so thrilled when Cyndie told me she was running for State Representative! I spend a lot of time advocating for legislative changes, especially on social justice issues. I have often found myself wishing we had more legislators who make social justice a real priority. Cyndie will be one of those! Over the past two years I have gotten to know Cyndie through our mutual efforts towards police reform. She is smart, knowledgeable and has good judgement. She volunteers to do the hard work and follows through on commitments. She’s a great team player and knows how to keep the work fun. We all would be lucky to have Cyndie put her leadership skills to use in the next General Assembly.

Cyndie has proven herself to be an effective leader and a true advocate for the residents of the City of Newark. She works seamlessly with City Council, advancing our collective goals and improving the quality of life within our community.

Cyndie has been a pleasure to work with on the Diversity and Equity Parent Council for Newark Charter School. Her passion for the children and her desire for everyone to have a voice has been inspiring. She was willing to roll up her sleeves and do the work to get things done and I know she will be great for our district.

I'm proud to support Cyndie as the next state representative for the 25th District. I know that Cyndie is running for the right reasons -- because she cares about people, and she cares about important issues like reform in the areas of education and healthcare, and socioeconomic, racial, environmental, and criminal justice. I know she will fight for everyday Delawareans and our most vulnerable Delawareans over special interests. I know she has proven herself by putting in the work on important issue campaigns and for the right candidates and elected officials. And I know that she understands the importance of not just want happens in Dover -- but also constituent services and being accessible and present in her community.

I think Cyndie will make a great Delaware Representative for the 25th District. She understands the importance of a living wage, worker rights and protections for all Delaware workers. She knows education is the backbone for the future of the Delaware economy and workforce. Cyndie supports my efforts to legalize marijuana for adults 21+ and that establishing a safe, regulated, and taxed industry for Delaware entrepreneurs to enter will create local well-paying jobs and will provide tax revenue we can use to address our needs.

Cyndie Romer is a true advocate at the State Level for matters of concern to citizens of Newark. She is approachable, easy to talk with, and understands the challenges facing local government and the need for state and local government to work together to address citizen needs. She represents Newark well in Dover.

Cyndie Romer has taken the lead on helping Newark gain much needed financial support from the State and the University. It is a known fact that UD owns 42% of real estate and is growing. The people of Newark should not have to have their taxes raised because they are hosting the students in many ways. All who work, live, and educate here should be responsible for our city, not just the constituents that reside here. This tax is on UD, not the Students!

I joined Newark City Council seven years ago and can confidently say this past year was the most productive and positive session in our state legislature with respect to the impact on the City of Newark. Cyndie Romer's open and consistent communication with staff and council, ability to work with her colleagues on both side of the aisle and sheer hard work resulted in significant -- and necessary -- financial benefit to Newark, while laying the groundwork for future policy improvements that will benefit our residents.

Cyndie collaborates with Newark Council and addresses resident concerns in the Assembly. Her efforts are improving our environment, safety, and economic opportunities.

You will not find a bigger or more dedicated champion for students than Cyndie Romer. She has been steadfast in her pursuit to connect students to employment opportunities, which is exactly what this community needs and what makes an impact on both the students and employers.

It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve the residents of the 25th District as your State Representative for the last 16 years. I announced my retirement from the Delaware General Assembly at the beginning of this year (2022). I have spent my tenure in Dover fighting for all Delawareans across a number of issues -- from access to equitable, quality public education, to affordable housing, and transparency in government.
